17 Wise

    Wise
#17 in the Series:  My Daddy Is…

As many of you know, my husband, Dave, and I live full time on the road.  We have been living out of our truck and in a tent since April 2019 (with a few breaks with family).  Recently the weather has been colder, windier, and wetter and we began to contemplate
the wisdom of getting a travel trailer so we could be more comfortable.  As we considered the pros and cons we were torn between the thought of more comfort and the cost both financially and to our freedom to move about and visit the kind of places we like to frequent.  We also could not agree on what the travel trailer should be like…large and comfortable for living or smaller and mobile for traveling.  We prayed and asked God for wisdom. We continued to struggle and pray about the idea for several days.  Ultimately we decided to follow peace.

Do you need wisdom about a decision or situation?  Because our Father is a know-it-all AND he is willing to reveal that knowledge to you, you have THE SOURCE for all the wisdom you need in this life.  Just ask!  And like us, let peace be your guide.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭2:6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭4:11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    1. Now…pray and ask Holy Spirit to highlight something from this post and to teach you. (Perhaps he already highlighted something as you were reading!). Close your eyes and be silent before him for a minute or two...or more.  Breathe in Holy Spirit.  (Yes, actually inhale.)  Listen.  Open your eyes and peruse the post.  What does your eye see or your ear hear?  Write it in your journal.

    1. Why does it seem important?  You could even ask:  Father/Jesus/Holy Spirit, why have you brought this to my attention?  Write the answer in your journal.  (The answer may be a question…an I wonder.  Allow Holy Spirit to direct your thoughts.)

    1. Make it a prayer.  Pray the scripture (and it’s insights, questions, or comments) back to the Father.  Write this in your journal.

    1. How are you going to be different after this experience with God?  What does he want you to be or do as a result?  If you are not sure, ask him.  Write this in your journal.

I look forward to this journey with you!  Onward to freedom for your mustang heart!
