16 A Know-It-All

    A Know-It-All
    #16 in the Series:  My Daddy Is…

    Remember that person in your life who seemed to have eyes in the back of their head!  Maybe it was a teacher…or a parent…or a supervisor or boss.  You probably felt that their attention was negative…they were good at catching your bad behavior or mistakes.  Did it help you to behave or perform better?

    God is all seeing and all knowing, but his motive is love.  Knowing he sees all and loves us in spite of ourselves, should give us encouragement to live better.  Research has show that higher expectations result in higher performance.  God has the highest expectations for us.  His expectation is that we will become like Christ!  And he will see to it.  See his eye upon you as the loving thing it is and RISE to the expectation!

    “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.
    You know when I sit and when I rise;
    you perceive my thoughts from afar.
    You discern my going out and my lying down;
    you are familiar with all my ways.
    Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.
    You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.
    Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
    Where can I go from your Spirit?
    Where can I flee from your presence?
    If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
    if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
    If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
    if I settle on the far side of the sea,
    even there your hand will guide me,
    your right hand will hold me fast.
     If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
    and the light become night around me,”
    even the darkness will not be dark to you;
    the night will shine like the day,
    for darkness is as light to you.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139:1-12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭139:16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    1. Now…pray and ask Holy Spirit to highlight something from this post and to teach you. (Perhaps he already highlighted something as you were reading!). Close your eyes and be silent before him for a minute or two...or more.  Breathe in Holy Spirit.  (Yes, actually inhale.)  Listen.  Open your eyes and peruse the post.  What does your eye see or your ear hear?  Write it in your journal.

    1. Why does it seem important?  You could even ask:  Father/Jesus/Holy Spirit, why have you brought this to my attention?  Write the answer in your journal.  (The answer may be a question…an I wonder.  Allow Holy Spirit to direct your thoughts.)

    1. Make it a prayer.  Pray the scripture (and it’s insights, questions, or comments) back to the Father.  Write this in your journal.

    1. How are you going to be different after this experience with God?  What does he want you to be or do as a result?  If you are not sure, ask him.  Write this in your journal.

    I look forward to this journey with you!  Onward to freedom for your mustang heart!

    P.S.
