15 Choosy

    Choosy
#15 in the Series:  My Daddy Is…

Remember back in school when team were chosen?  Where were you in the line up?  First?  Middle?  Last?  How about in your work life?  Have you been chosen for a special honor or a raise…or has that gone to someone else?

Our Heavenly Father always chooses us first!
What a mystery that there can be billions of people and yet our Heavenly Father interacts with us as if we were the only one on the planet!  He cannot love us more and he will not love us less!  May the truth of these scriptures grip your heart!  Read them slowly…out loud if possible…make them personal by inserting your name.  Hint:  Write your personalizations in your journal.

“even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:4-5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Blessed are those you choose and bring near to live in your courts! We are filled with the good things of your house, of your holy temple.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭65:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭15:19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    1. Now…pray and ask Holy Spirit to highlight something from this post and to teach you. (Perhaps he already highlighted something as you were reading!). Close your eyes and be silent before him for a minute or two...or more.  Breathe in Holy Spirit.  (Yes, actually inhale.)  Listen.  Open your eyes and peruse the post.  What does your eye see or your ear hear?  Write it in your journal.  (Don’t forget to write your personalizations in your journal!)

    1. Why does it seem important?  You could even ask:  Father/Jesus/Holy Spirit, why have you brought this to my attention?  Write the answer in your journal.  (The answer may be a question…an I wonder.  Allow Holy Spirit to direct your thoughts.)

    1. Make it a prayer.  Pray the scripture (and it’s insights, questions, or comments) back to the Father.  Write this in your journal.

    1. How are you going to be different after this experience with God?  What does he want you to be or do as a result?  If you are not sure, ask him.  Write this in your journal.

I look forward to this journey with you!  Onward to freedom for your mustang heart!
