18 A Warrior

    A Warrior
#18 in the Series:  My Daddy Is…

When I was a small child, about kindergarten age, I remember a situation where my cousin starting picking on me.  To my surprise, my big brother rose up and started beating on him (my cousin was older and quite a bit taller).  My love for my brother must have quadrupled that day!  To know that he would fight for me was such an awesome thing!
Do you know that your Heavenly Father fights for you!  I think most of the time we are unaware of how much he intervenes for us.  Why just today, while
we were anticipating a severe thunderstorm with hail and a possible tornado (remember we live in a tent!), the storm suddenly split and most of it went around us!
How’s that for the Commander of Angel Armies!   (See radar map)

Lest you doubt that he controls environment in favor of his people check out these Old and New Testament stories:  Exodus 14, 2 Kings 3, Mark 4:35-41.

Now rest assured, your Daddy fights for you to give you victory over
    • Yourself!
    • Your past
    • Your enemies.
    • Your environment.
    • Tribulations, trials and challenges.
    • The forces of evil.
That doesn't mean life is easy!  It is a fight after all, but we can rest in his love and power to bring ultimate good out of every battle.

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.””
    ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭14:14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“One of you routs a thousand, because the Lord your God fights for you, just as he promised.”
    ‭‭Joshua‬ ‭23:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.””
    ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭20:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:37-39‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“So awesome are you, O Yahweh, Lord God of Angel Armies! Where could we find anyone as glorious as you? Your faithfulness shines all around you!”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭89:8‬ ‭TPT‬‬

    1. Now…pray and ask Holy Spirit to highlight something from this post and to teach you. (Perhaps he already highlighted something as you were reading!). Close your eyes and be silent before him for a minute or two...or more.  Breathe in Holy Spirit.  (Yes, actually inhale.)  Listen.  Open your eyes and peruse the post.  What does your eye see or your ear hear?  Write it in your journal.

    1. Why does it seem important?  You could even ask:  Father/Jesus/Holy Spirit, why have you brought this to my attention?  Write the answer in your journal.  (The answer may be a question…an I wonder.  Allow Holy Spirit to direct your thoughts.)

    1. Make it a prayer.  Pray the scripture (and it’s insights, questions, or comments) back to the Father.  Write this in your journal.

    1. How are you going to be different after this experience with God?  What does he want you to be or do as a result?  If you are not sure, ask him.  Write this in your journal.

I look forward to this journey with you!  Onward to freedom for your mustang heart!

P.S. I will be sharing some of my insights and experiences in the comments as examples for you.   I cherish your comments below and emails at:  joyfullcoyote@gmail.com.  Share on social media.  (If you receive this in your email, you may need to visit the webpage (link is in the footer) to find the share buttons.)  If you don’t receive it in your email, sign up for auto delivery at the top of the right hand column on the webpage.  Be blessed today!
