19 Welcoming

    Welcoming
#19 in the Series:  My Daddy Is…

Many years ago, there was a misunderstanding between a dear person in my life and me.  As a result he made the statement that I should never come to his house uninvited.  I was not welcome.  It took
many years of reaching out and asking some very pointed questions to clear up the misunderstanding and restore relationship.  What a relief to now know, I am welcome in his house.

When you think of God, how do you envision him?

Do you see him as angry with you?

Because he is the creator of the universe, do you see him as too busy running things to care about you as an individual.

Perhaps you see him as someone distracted and uninformed about your trials.

Or maybe you just don’t see him at all…he is absent.

Maybe--because of your recent studying--you are beginning to see him as a loving father, a revealer of mysteries, or a warrior who fights for you.

Regardless of how you see him, the truth is, he welcomes you into his presence.  He longs to be in relationship with you.   He has made a way for you to come to him, boldly!  You are welcome in his house!

“And now we are brothers and sisters in God’s family because of the blood of Jesus, and he welcomes us to come into the most holy sanctuary in the heavenly realm—boldly and without hesitation. For he has dedicated a new, life-giving way for us to approach God. For just as the veil was torn in two, Jesus’ body was torn open to give us free and fresh access to him! And since we now have a magnificent High Priest to welcome us into God’s house, we come closer to God and approach him with an open heart, fully convinced that nothing will keep us at a distance from him. For our hearts have been sprinkled with blood to remove impurity, and we have been freed from an accusing conscience. Now we are clean, unstained, and presentable to God inside and out!”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:19-22‬ ‭TPT‬‬

“Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭15:7‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭6:37‬ ‭NIV‬‬

““Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:28‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    1. Now…pray and ask Holy Spirit to highlight something from this post and to teach you. (Perhaps he already highlighted something as you were reading!). Close your eyes and be silent before him for a minute or two...or more.  Breathe in Holy Spirit.  (Yes, actually inhale.)  Listen.  Open your eyes and peruse the post.  What does your eye see or your ear hear?  Write it in your journal.

    1. Why does it seem important?  You could even ask:  Father/Jesus/Holy Spirit, why have you brought this to my attention?  Write the answer in your journal.  (The answer may be a question…an I wonder.  Allow Holy Spirit to direct your thoughts.)

    1. Make it a prayer.  Pray the scripture (and it’s insights, questions, or comments) back to the Father.  Write this in your journal.

    1. How are you going to be different after this experience with God?  What does he want you to be or do as a result?  If you are not sure, ask him.  Write this in your journal.

I look forward to this journey with you!  Onward to freedom for your mustang heart!

P.S. I will be sharing some of my insights and experiences in the comments as examples for you.   I cherish your comments below and emails at:  joyfullcoyote@gmail.com.  Share on social media.  (If you receive this in your email, you may need to visit the webpage (link is in the footer) to find the share buttons.)  If you don’t receive it in your email, sign up for auto delivery at the top of the right hand column on the webpage.  Be blessed today!
